About the client

Client background

ShopFlow is a Dhaka-based fashion retailer with 4 physical stores and a growing online presence. In 2024 their website analytics showed 70% of sessions coming from mobile — yet the responsive website was converting at only 1.2% on phones vs 4.5% on desktop. Leadership decided a dedicated app was non-negotiable.

The problem

The challenge

ShopFlow's mobile website was slow (4.8 s TTI), required too many taps to check out, and offered no post-purchase experience. Meanwhile, two competitors had launched apps and were advertising them heavily on social media. ShopFlow needed a polished, fast app for both iOS and Android — with local payment methods (bKash, Nagad) — within 10 weeks before the Eid shopping season.

Discovery & planning

Stakeholder Call

60-minute call with the CEO and head of marketing. We reviewed Google Analytics mobile data together, identified the 3 biggest checkout drop-off points, and agreed on the MVP feature set.

UX Workshop

Half-day session with ShopFlow's team to map the customer journey: browse → wishlist → cart → checkout → order tracking. We sketched 12 key screens on a whiteboard.

Design Sprint

We produced Figma wireframes and a high-fidelity prototype for the checkout flow within 5 days. Client approved with minor revisions after a single feedback round.

Payment Gateway Integration Planning

Coordinated with bKash's technical team to obtain sandbox credentials and clarify PGW compliance requirements before development started.

What we built

Technical solution

We built a single Flutter codebase that ships to both iOS and Android, sharing 96% of the code. The app uses Firebase Firestore for real-time inventory and order updates, Firebase Auth for social login, FCM for push notifications, and a custom checkout flow supporting Stripe (cards) and bKash (local wallet). The product listing experience was optimised for slow 3G networks common in Bangladesh.
